A brief history in time
Salumeria is the brainchild of Jean Kuilboer and his Sons; Pablo & Max Kuilboer.

Life began for the brothers and father in wholesale. Importation of FMCG’s (basically a fancy word for detergents, shampoos and other non perishable items generally found in supermarkets)
This importation and wholesale business strived for a good time. However the industry changed and with it so did we. (Re-inventing seems to be our middle name) 😂😂
From Importation and wholesale business we moved to developing a B2C platform. (fancy word for selling to consumers instead of supermarkets).

We opened Malta’s first online supermarket with its very own mobile shopping App: Malta Warehouse,
With this came the idea to open a brick and mortar shop , not just online and with it Salumeria began.
It was time to open the Salumeria. The family business has deep roots in Trading, with its importation business: Trading Malta, so the opening of Malta Warehouse was an obvious next step. However there are limitations to what can be done with Discount Shops. Having enough space inside Malta Warehouse it was decided to place Salumeria inside. In other words, it’s a Shop inside a Shop Concept. With our Salumeria we are able to offer with our clients and share our passion for Charcuterie.
Focusing on Weddings and other catering events, Pablo and Max decided to take it a step further, opening an establishment in the heart of the capital city Valletta. A stone’s throw away from their mothers birth home, thus full circle. Opening the shutters for the first time in November 2018.

Enter Salumeria Gardens
Covid happened and ensnared our little bar in Valletta. Regulations made it not feasible for us to operate plus the government had shut down bars indefinitely.
Luckily we had just started working on the gardens during the shutdown period… Wanna read more? Click on the pizza story to find out what happened next.
